The cover—especially the typeface—drew me in right away it reminds me of books from an earlier era, but I couldn’t say exactly why. The story itself drew me in as well: when a story begins with your main character and narrator going off the road into a lake in his car, the author gets your attention! Virgil’s voice, wry, a little bemused, yet matter-of-fact about all of it is what makes me look forward to the rest of the story.
