I really wanted to love this one. It follows Seelie, a changling, and her sister Isolde. They ran away from home and travel around in a caravan making a living as thieves. Things change when they stumble upon a compass that could lead them to hidden treasure.

The author, Ivelisse Housman, is autistic and wrote Seelie as an autistic character. I love how she portrayed Seelie authentically, with good, bad, struggles, and perseverance. It is so nice to see an autistic MC that doesn't fall into harmful stereotypes. We also see everything from Seelie's point of view. While this did mean we spent a lot of time in Seelie's head as she processed things, it was refreshing to have representation that wasn't strictly through a neurotypical character's eyes.

With all that being said, I didn't love the book. The pacing was an issue and I often found myself bored. For such an exciting premise, I was left wanting a lot more.

Overall, I didn't love it or hate it.
