There's a lot of immediate action in this first impression and there's a lot to take in - the magical setting, the boundaries between magical and non-magical, twin sisters thieving for a living, and hints at bigger adventures to come. It's an interesting world and the characters are promising. I'm less interested in the fantastical world than I am about the characters' backstories and their relationships with one another, but I'm sure there are fans of the YA fantasy genre who will devour this story.
