Unmasked was a very different type of memoir. Paul Holes weaves the tale of how a notorious killer eluded capture for forty years. There are some very high profile cases he mentions in his story. Paul gives not only details of famous cases but a glimpse into the life of a criminal profiler and how his personal life was also effected. I’m not usually into memoirs but this was so interesting. I am a true crime fan. Unmasked should be on anyone who loves true crimes to be read list. I literally couldn’t put the book down. I devoured it in one sitting and might reread it to see what if anything i missed. Paul Holes apparently does a true crime podcast as well which is something I’m going to check out. Almost every case Paul mentioned I’ve heard of. The golden state killer terrorized California for years and changed how local police departments communicate information to each other.
