This book is well written and terrifying. I learned a lot of things I did not know, including the existence of a serial killer and rapist known as the Golden State Killer and how many cold cases, including this one, were solved many years later thanks to new technologies like DNA testing. It also shows us the toll on a person that has seeing all this evil, and I'm more thankful than ever to the men and women who sacrifice so many things, sometimes their family, their mental health, and even their lives, to make this world a safer one. Listen, the book is so good I unfortunately could not finish reading it. I found myself checking every room of my house for an intruder while holding a knife in my hand, until I saw my reflection on the opened screened porch doors that I forgot to close and I understood that I could not go on like that. This book, like the author's life, is for you only if you have a strong stomach. Proceed with caution.
