This read was a quick one for me. As a fan of Criminal Minds and any mystery/thriller read, this one had me hooked from the beginning. I am also an avid seeker of true life / memoir reads so I loved having mystery and memoir combined in this true crime read.

Holes gives readers an inside look into so many of our nation's most gripping cold cases and teases readers with some of his other work. His drive for the truth combined with personal details makes this one an enjoyable read. Interestingly enough, for something so dark at times, he makes this one a light read and a quick page turner.

I am actually surprised that I have not seen the name Paul Holes pop up in other true crime reads or television shows given the length of his career and his prominence in the field.

If I had to pick a con for this book, I would say that Holes came across as a first time author - where the language did not suggest a mature author upfront.
