My favorite crime book so far this year. I’m a huge fan of Paul Holes. His book is well written and covers his career, marriages, and the grip that cold cases took on his life. He had an obsession to try to solve them using his various skills and experience. . There are crazy cases he worked on and those get space as well, like the Jaycee Dugard abduction, Laci Peterson's murder and more. Especially his most astonishing case, the Golden State Killer case, who he managed to identify. I learned some details on that case that I hadn't read about before, which was great. I also read about one killer I hadn't heard of, and plan to do further reading on. An unforgettable read that I was so thrilled to get an early copy of. This book was all that I hoped it would be when I first heard about it coming out. I won an advance review copy from BookishFirst, and the publisher and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
