I just read I’ll Be Gone In The Dark where Paul Holes had a big role in due to his experience with the Golden State Killer. That book was excellent and this one seems even better. The writing is fluent and easy but provides the graphic and factual details that we “true crimers “ want in a book about murder and cold cases. Paul had an eloquent way of writing and with his worldly experience in cold cases and horrific murders he is a wealth of knowledge for these cases. I enjoy when a book is written in a story- like format that can present the facts but also can tell a story in a smooth way to create a true timeline and sequence of events. This book was immediately intriguing and sucked me in from when he poured his bourbon. I may be bias as I love true crime but the sneak peek I got just now is excellent but it will not sustain me!
