Whether choosing to read Paul Holes Unmasked: My Life Solving Cold Cases in one sitting or deciding to read it in small doses, I think the reader will be absorbed in Paul’s ability to be able to compartmentalize his cold cases as well as his personal life. I had not heard of Paul Holes before this book. I was familiar with the Laci Peterson case, as well as the cases of Jaycee Dugard and the Golden State Killer.

I chose to read a few chapters at a time. I felt like I was in the room with Paul as he shared his stories. I am sure it was very difficult for his first wife and son, and his second wife Sherrie and their daughters to not have Paul’s full presence while he worked on cases.

I was intrigued with the importance of DNA and how so many changes in technology helped in solving cold case crimes. Holes obsession and commitment to victims and their families was amazing. I am going to check out his podcast soon. My thanks to Celadon and Bookishfirst for an ARC of this book. The opinions in this review are my own.
