A huge thank you to Celadon books for the Advanced Release Copy of this book. I am a huge fan of true crime and police proceedurals. Unfortunately, they can be somewhat long and drawn-out. Paul Holes manages to give you enough depth and detail to keep it interesting but not so much that you get bogged down in the details.
We currently live in a world where DNA is king and the criminologists have one of the coolest jobs around. I enjoyed the perspective from when this was all new. At the start of Paul's career, DNA and other lab techniques where in their infancy. They were generally in an area that was run down, unmarked and lacking in functional equipment.
Despite these limitations, Paul used every resource available to him to learn more and more until he was one of the best cold case investigations out there.
If you are at all a fan of true crime, put this one on your list.
