I had zero expectations going into this. There's so many true crime books that discuss the same cases...especially cold cases...that I was completely ready to write this off as another attempt by a retiring detective to solve one last case. This book is NOT that. I absolutely love the raw way the author writes and allows us into his mind. True crime, yes. Common? Not a bit.
