I kind of don't love true crime. The world is horrible enough that the last thing I tend to want to do is voluntarily open up a book where people do the worst of the worst to each other. So that fact that I was disappointed when I got to the end of the excerpt of this book means that in spite of all of that, Holes' story (at the beginning at least) is incredibly compelling.
