I know that there's a lot of bad in the world, and because of that I don't like to see it in what I read. In just the first 29 pages alone, there is talk of rape and murder. It was unsettling for me to read. Plus, this sentence "I’ve looked at a woman, and rather than seeing the beauty of the female body, I’ve dissected it, layer by layer, as if she were on the autopsy table" reeks of misogyny and the male gaze. While these cases may have been solved, I doubt there are many happy endings to these stories. This book is not for me.
