I should start by saying that I am a huge fan of hero detective Paul Holes (I know him from true crime podcasts and TV shows), and I was excited about this book before even reading the First Impression. Because Paul presents as such a straightforward and logical person, I found his introductory chapter surprising, unsettling, and tremendously effective, and I think it bodes well for the memoir as a whole. I can't wait for this insightful and thrilling journey into Paul's life - and hopefully into many of his cases too. Wish the First Impression had a table of contents so I know what to look forward to!
