Wow!! I am a huge true crime fan; whenever I have my headphones plugged in, I am listening to a true crime podcast. I recently listened to a podcast and they mentioned Paul Holes, so when I saw this book, I instantly recognized the name. As much as I love true crime podcasts, I have never thought to pick up a true crime-based book, but reading this first look, I definitely want to pick up this one, and more like it. While true crime books all are probably interesting, I feel like a memoir, told by a person who has first-hand experience dealing with cold cases and investigations will be amazing and would be a book I would not want to put down. In the first look, the way that Holes describes the scenes he witnessed is vivid and mesmerizing. The way that he explained Carla's case made me feel like I knew her personally and I was invested in her case development. This just seems like such a great read, that would be right up my alley. I can tell I would read this book in one sitting and wouldn't be able to put it down!
