Paul Holes give startling insight into his illustrious career as a cold case detective, untangling some of the most infamous cases in recent history. In particular, we learn about his efforts finding the Golden State Killer, made famous by Michelle McNamara in I'll Be Gone in the Dark.

Paul's writing style is immediately gripping and he relinquishes just enough gruesome details to draw the reader in, yet elicits empathy for the victim he works to serve. Overall, the reader is left with the extreme sacrifice Paul has made for this cause, losing two marriages, relationships with four children, and countless hours of personal time.

For lovers of true crime, or even those interested in the stories of heroes, this book will be a must read!
