This book is told in a unique point of view for a true crime novel. Focusing on the investigator, their habits, and the role it takes on them mentally rather than a lazar focus on the cases at hand. It really is a tragically horrifying account of the tragedies and triumphs of the human condition. Left me feeling heartbroken and crestfallen. With so much emotion and graphic detail put in by the author/investigator I don’t think it’s a book I could digest easily but it is very insightful and haunting.
