I love police procedurals so I was very pleased to win a copy of Unholy Murder from Bookishfirst. This story about a murdered nun found at a construction site did not let me down. Author, Lynda La Plante has enough red herrings to keep her readers guessing until the very end. Although this is not the first book in the Detective Jane Tennison series, it can be read on its own without the reader feeling like they are missing information. The story gives us enough background information on Detective Tennison to really understand her. It's fun to read about a steadfast woman in a man's world fighting to get the respect that she deserves. I love that the story was fast paced with the action keeping me turning pages furiously wanting to solve the murder along with Jane. I might definitely go back to the first book in the series to get more from this author. Highly recommend it.
