The opening scene with the unearthing of a coffin and the detail of it being on the grounds of an old convent and then the additional detail that the convent had been converted into condos or "flats" made me think about a mystery book I loved reading - The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman, but the likeness ended there. (I am not saying Osman's book is a comp title for Unholy Murder.)

While I liked the female detective's office banter with the DI and the tale of the young robbers getting a big bite from a huge police dog, somehow the story just doesn't pull me in immediately. I feel like I have already read the book, although I most definitely have not. Yes, there's definitely some creepy details, like the inside lid of the coffin having been scratched. Terrifying thought. So readers who enjoy a basic police mystery story will most likely enjoy this.
