I was immediately drawn in by the eerie scene that begins with a muddy plot of land being unearthed by a digger that ultimately strikes a large object identified as a coffin. The intensity builds knowing that this plot of land was formerly the area of an old convent.

I was further drawn in by the smart, sensible attitude of the lead detective, Jane Tennison, who is paired up for the investigation of the coffin with the not-so-professional and maybe not-so-polished younger, Boon. I adore journeying along with characters that have markedly different perspectives and personalities. This usually adds up to a lot of fun for me as reader.

The cover art of Unholy Murder nails it with the ominous looking crime scene waiting for Tennison below an antiquated structure that appears to hold many secrets. I would, without a doubt, buy this book.
