Admittedly, I'm not a huge fan of detective novels. In the first impression the relationships feel forced and the dialogue is choppy. Detective Jane Tennyson just doesn't feel like a character I can really dive into. With that being said, it does feel like an easy read and that it could appeal to a wide variety of readers.
