"Under the Surface" by Diana Urban picks up right off the bat with the creepiness of the prologue. After we're introduced to Ruby, Sean, Val, Selena, and Olivia, it's clear to see that there are some internal relationship issues between the friends (and enemies), but this doesn't stop them from becoming involved in something so creepy and dangerous. I heard about this book a few months ago and am so glad I got to read it because it definitely is worth the wait. The ambiguousness of the prologue has you sitting at the edge of your seat. The thriller aspect is very well written and you're left wondering about what's going to happen next after each chapter. Sean's helplessness and the tension exuding out of this book makes it such a worthwhile read. I would highly recommend "Under the Surface" for anyone who is interested in the infamous catacombs and YA thrillers!!
