First off the cover is gorgeous and I immediately want to crack it open to see where the story will leave me. I love the first line - “I never thought I’d die alone in the dark under the City of Lights” - that sentence alone drags you into the story and immediately I want to know what led up to that part. Ruby is the main character and is in Paris on a school trip along with her best friends Val and Sean. My curiosity is peaked by Ruby’s interest as a YouTuber and adrenaline junky to get the views on her channel. I feel like Ruby is going to learn a lot more than she bargains for on this trip, and it just won’t be historical facts. I can only imagine what she’s get up to in Paris, especially since Val gets them invited to a party in the Catacombs, deep under Paris. With how the beginning of the story goes, I can only imagine that she is separated from the group and is left to her own devices on how to make it out alive. This will be a trip she’ll never forget. I would love to have an advanced copy as this is already an anticipated read for 2024 and I can’t wait to read more of Ruby, Val and Sean’s adventures.
