Oh my goodness, the writing in this book! Just from the first chapter I can tell how well the author wrote her characters. I speak French and have visited France, and everything about being tourists' is very realistic, especially when Ruby was pickpocketed. The cliffhanger at the end of the preview makes me beg for more!
I also enjoyed how there is French incorporated into the book. I have read far too many books set in French without a single French word in the book. It makes the book feel all the more realistic!
