Great story
What a fantastic story this was. Ada was a relatable character (also very lovable)r and I believe other readers will connect with her. Her yearning to fit in is something universal but also unique to her situation. I do appreciate learning about other cultures and I did learn a lot of Nigerian culture in this book. I also enjoyed the familial relationships.
I did have a slight issue with the pacing. I felt some parts dragged a bit where things could have gotten to certain points a whole lot quicker. The ending felt a bit rushed and could have been expanded on. I also did want more about Sam, who was a great character.
All in all, I enjoyed the book and the vibe it was giving. I got some hints of THUG as well as others like it while reading this book. I think this is an important read and should be in every classroom.
Thank you Bookishfirst for the review copy
