This would be an incredibly difficult book to read, not because its badly written (its very on point with descriptions) but because it doesn't flinch away from hard topics. In fact, it starts in the muddle of a hard topic and just keeps going. It's raw, real, and will make you furious or uncomfortable or sad or all of the above. I am very curious to see how this plot resolves itself and would be more than happy to cheer on the characters as they move through it. I have no doubt I'd need a cry at some point while finishing the book, but it seems like a book worth the tears.

The MC (Gil) is perceptive, intelligent, independent... and hurting. He isn't just dealing with his change of schools, of life, but also of family.

TLDR: a rough emotional ride but seems like the author knows how to balance it out in a satisfying way. Would be willing to buy and read.
