I've seen a lot of novels written about the issues of racism in education, and how schools play lip service to diversity without actually making their schools a safe space. This seems to flip that on its head, with the main character taking his position there into his own hands. It sounds like a new approach and I'm excited to see how that plays out for him, and I hope for an ending I can cheer for.
