Gil deserves better!! After lobbying for a better STEM education at his public school in Brooklyn, he is accepted into a preparatory school on a partial scholarship on the Upper West Side. It is a completely different world than the Caribbean neighborhood that he hails from. It's about an hour away from where he lives, requires a uniform, and is predominantly white. I loved the different facets of Gil that the author writes about. Trying to figure out his relationship with his family and friends, doing martial arts, and loving robotics. I want to read more!
