First, the cover was a beautiful job depicting not just the tone of the story, but also the premise. The eye-catching colors and semi-realistic art style attracted me right away. But the other than the cover, it's Gil's world (his hometown and now the new environment at Augustin Prep) that has me excited to read the rest. From Gil's voice, to the way the people around him act, to the issues and fears he goes through on a daily basis, everything in this story feels real and grounded. I can't wait to explore more of it.
