I have mixed feeling about this excerpt. I liked the writing style which is just right for the YA/Teen audience. I didn't quite appreciate the police brutality angle since it seemed a little slanted. Nor did I like the undocumented (illegal) immigration references that appears to favor the undocumented immigration movement.
