This book was so cute! I love all the new middle grade books I’ve been reading. I liked the message of finding yourself and making friends no matter where you are.

I felt for Paloma and her anxiety about moving away from everything she was close to. Growing up with her entire family under one roof, it was hard for her to come to terms with moving across the country. While there were times I thought he mother was too harsh, I understood where she was coming from with Paloma.

All the ghost seemed so nice and friendly. I would have loved to be friends with all the local ghost. The fact that Paloma and her family were using their powers to help others and connect them to their recently departed relatives was so nice. I wish things like that were actually real and not just for television in the real world.

I know kids will love reading about a Paloma and her friends and they will enjoy a book about ghosts and magic. The words on this book were huge so they were super easy to read and it went by very fast. If you like quick reads about magical powers and a girl trying to navigate friends, spells, and making the best of her new world I highly recommend!
