"Totally Psychic" follows twelve-year-old Paloma, a beginner psychic following in her Abuela's footsteps. Abuela is the "Miami Mystic," a famed medium to the stars and Paloma's role model. When Paloma's parents move her and her little sister across the country, Paloma must navigate a new place, new school, new friends... and the ghostly inhabitants. She decides to dive head first into starting her own career as a medium, gaining followers and friends. But a reading goes wrong and Paloma will need to look within herself for the strength to fix it.
This book was a fun middle grade adventure! Paloma navigates a new environment, new people, family disagreements and arguments, and friendship challenges, just like any other twelve-year-old. The story was a quick and the writing style was loose and flowy. I am definitely -not- the target audience for this story, but I think it would do well in any middle school/junior high library.
