Fun MG Read
"Paloma Ferrer is psychic. In fact, everyone in her family line has “the gift.” Now that Paloma has come into her powers, she dreams of a famous medium to celebrities, being just like her beloved grandma."
Like a lot of middle grade "coming of age" stories, the story is kicked off by the main character being moved to a new area and struggling with making new friends. That being said, I don't know of any ithers where the main character is psychic! I was worried this would feel like a "Family Madrigal" situation, but I was happy with the way Paloma's relationships with the different members of her family was protrayed. Paloma herself was fun and relatable, and I enjoyed hearing about her (mis)adventures. All in all, I can see this book appealing to many middle grade readers looking for a little extra magic in their books. Well written and definitrly entertaining!
