This was an adorable coming-of age story about a girl who’s forced to move away from the only life she’s known, near her huge extended family, and away from all of her friends.
Paloma’s entire family has some kind of psychic abilities of their own—every one unique. Hers is that she can see ghosts and communicate with them. Her dream is to go on tour with her abuela, a famous psychic. But to do that, she has to hone her skills a bit.
So she starts hosting seances in the school’s greenhouse. Things go about as well as any reasonable adult would expect them to when the new girl (new to the school and newly psychic!) hosts seances at school with people she doesn’t know well…well, rather badly.
