Thank you to Brigid Martin, Bookish First and Inkyard Press for a copy of Totally Psychic. I don't give away spoilers in my reviews.
Totally Psychic is appropriate for middle school grade kids. I too enjoy reading YA and found this book to be an easy read full of humor, family and self-discovery.
Paloma is very close to her psychically gifted family and is upset to learn she will be moving away from them. She's lived her whole life in the same house with all of them and can't imagine moving so far away. Thankfully, her family finds a way to have her close to them psychically.
Paloma has the idea of making new friends by practicing her new psychic abilities by offering readings to her classmates. What happens next is funny - especially the mention of a specific group on page 182. Don't spoil it and read ahead - I laughed out loud at it.
Paloma learns how her psychic ability should not be self-serving and should be to help others.
Cute story and I can't wait to share my copy with a friend.
