Paloma is part of a Cuban-American family who all have some sort of psychic powers. She is anxious to prove to her abuela that she is ready to go on a psychic tour with her. When Paloma’s family moves to California, Paloma attempts to demonstrate her powers to influence Abuela as well as make new friends.Unfortunately, her psychic readings get out of control when she accidentally unleashes too many harmless but annoying ghosts.
This is really a cute story for middle grade children. It’s fun and humorous and has some really good messages about family relationships and maintaining old friendships while meeting friends in a new environment. The book also addresses the problems with keeping secrets and not being honest, especially with parents and adults who want the best for their children. The ghosts are funny characters and not scary at all, making this a real feel-good story.
