I was pleasantly surprised by how much I actually enjoyed this First Look! I don't read Middle Grade, unless it's a well loved book from my childhood, but this one seems fun! I also love the Hispanic characters, since I am part Hispanic and I love the magicalness of this book. I'm a big magic lover!! The story is actually fun and I am curious to see what happens to Paloma when she moves to California.
