This breathtaking cover and Gothic/paranormal horror story meets YA romance is a great debut that I was happy to add to my shelf!
This book deals with a lot of sensitive subjects like abuse, grief, and one of our MC's comes from a cult.
Our author incorporates these subjects and adds paranormal elements and blends them together seamlessly.
I really enjoyed this read. And for a debut, it makes me excited to see what Arndt will put out next.
There is so much in the story line, so the romance is kind of an extra thought (a side salad if you will) but again, there is so much plot that romance could have been left out all together and still help up decently.
My only complaint about this book, was that absolutely was not long enough. There so much in this world that I would have enjoyed more detail of. And when I finally read the last page, I was genuinely sad that I was done.
I also think this book can reach young adults, and adults like me in the same way.
