I had high hopes for this story, from the cover alone. (But also anything that had cults and religion? Yes, please.)
I suppose the old saying "Don't judge a book by it's cover." still rings true.
The love ARC felt unbelievable, they were "enemies" for about 2 seconds, then they were in love and had both loved each other the whole time? isn't that just... lovers? IDK.
Then the ending came and she wanted to leave and he wanted/needed to stay because he was part of the forest now and he wanted souvenirs? I get not sticking to norms and turning things on their head and wanting a girl to "change" for a guy but... it felt like there could've been a better ending.
Like, why didn't they have the birthday party in the forest if they really wanted everyone to be there?
IDK... Just disappointed.
