***ARC REVIEW***
Together We Rot features a young girl named Wil, who has lost her mother. The town may have closed the case but Wil won't back down until she gets real answers. Her leading suspension is about the Clarke family, a religious family of which her best friend is a part. But Wil does not know how deep the waters she is getting herself into.

Overall I enjoyed this book. The plot was unique, and I loved to see the mystery play out. I also liked the chemistry of the characters. The way Wil deals with hard times. How Ronnie supports her through that. And I like how timid and dependent Elwood is, in concerns for the way he was raised. But I do feel like this book is lacking a bit. I think it should have been longer, it could have even made for a stunning duology. This book seemed crammed and rushed, and because of this, the characters did not have a great dimension. One of the biggest areas I see this is in Elwood's dad. He is monstrous, evil, and manipulative. But why? Where is the contrast? This is his son after all. I think it would have been cool to see more of the church, why were these members so accepting of death? The environment created in this book is really intriguing but I want more. Like where did this seed come from? Another small thing was the dialogue did not seem authentic at some points, with cringy lines, and unrealistic dialogue.

Overall I did enjoy this read.
