I stayed up late to finish this book and let me tell you it was the best horror fantasy romance I've read in ages. I loved the characters and story. The writing was beautiful and after finishing I wanted to start it all over again. Which is a very rare thing indeed. I will look forward to whatever this author comes up with next. I especially loved the character development and the cult aspects of the town. It felt very real. I'm very glad I preordered a copy because there were some reviews that stated they didn't like it. If you're interested in reading it. Definitely give this one a chance! It won't disappoint! Just a few tropes in this story you might like sad boy, angry girl, friends to enemies to lovers, and town religious cult. Not to mention high stakes when the main character decides to take the investigation into her own hands. I'll definitely be rereading this one again soon!
