It’s never a good sign when you live in a small town surrounded by a forest called the Morguewood. Yes, this takes place in winter but it is also a good read for the fall. It definitely has a fairly high creep factor what with the changes happening to Elwood, not to mention the creepy cult that is run by his father, The Garden of Eden. Cult stories are always scary, especially since they seem so reasonable to those who have been steeped in the brainwashing and it occurs in real life. I cannot think of a more unlikely setting for the real garden but it nicely ups the weird and scary setting. Not a forest I would want to go walking through. At least not until the end of the book.

Not sure how I feel about the Wil and Elwood love story. I think it would have still been alright if they had just been friends. Kinda like Elwood's other friends or Wil's friend Ronnie.

It was a quick read and I remained interested in it till the end. Not quite what I was expecting but it tied up pretty nicely and I actually did not mind that not everything got fixed back to normal but was still okay.
