Was really excited for this one ever since it was described to me as a horrmance. Horror with romance? It also fits in the fantasy and mystery genres.
This book follows two teenagers, Wil Greene and Elwood Clarke. Wil wants to find her missing mother. Elwood it dreading his birthday, he will have to leave his school and friends to join his dad in dedicating their lives for their religion. However this means a dark ending for him. This fate is tied to Wil's mother's mysterious disappearance. The two have to work together. I love young adult horror books. This was creepy in a fun way. This book was also hard to read at times because (big tw) child abuse. I loved the side characters and friends in this book. The main romance was beautiful to read and it served childhood friends to enemies to lovers. My one complaint is how things were wrapped up at the end of the story.
