Gothic romance has never failed me, and it definitely didn't start now. Neither did friends-to-lovers, one of my favourite tropes ever.

Her friendship with Elwood, our male main character with paranormal abilities that has him questioning his sanity, is lost due to a wrong choice on his part, but they soon reunite when they must team up to help each other against the others.
Overall, a great, captivating story with a riveting writing style that has you hooked from the first page. The gothic, paranormal horror story concludes with a bittersweet ending that has you wishing for a bit more, but it was lovely read while it lasted.
