Honestly, This book felt more like a YA romance than it did a YA horror. The romance between Will and Elwood played a big part in the plot with the cult being secondary. Elwood was a great character and I really connected with him. The way he cared for Will was really sweet. The way he evolves at the end is beautiful.
The cult aspect of the book was interesting. I’m always intrigued by stories that involve religious fanatics that live in small towns deep in the woods. I wish the plot had been a little more flushed out when it came to the cult. I wanted more background information.
