A fun read!

This was a really fun read and has such a fantastic cover too! It’s a really creative plot and I loved the horror blended with the coming of age with a touch of romance. I thought the creepy atmosphere was really well done, the forest, the cult/church, the bugs - all of it, the horror vibes were on point! It did feel a bit metaphor heavy, especially for the first 50 pages, and for such a short book I wanted less descriptions and more focus on character development and backstory on the church. I was fascinated by what was going on there and really felt like there was a lot of potential for there to be more to the story. The side characters (the friend group) felt very one dimensional and I would have liked to see them have more development.

I did still enjoy it reading this and I can’t wait to see what the author writes next!
