This very much reminded me of Mindy McGinnis' writing style and Jeff Zentner's Serpent King. I like a strong, but also messed up female protagonist and there is a strong religious presence. Wil is searching for her mother, but everyone believes she just left town. I like her determinism to get to the truth, whether or not it works out will be determined. I am interested in seeing the development of Wil and Elwood and where both of their stories go from there.
