Both the title and the cover would catch my attention in the bookstore. The book started off a little rocky for me with a full-on angsty, angry teen and a cheesy cable TV cop shop. However, it quickly redeemed itself with strong, descriptive writing, dual perspectives, an intriguing mystery, a righteous and devious cult, and a broken friendship ripe with the promise of romantic tensions. Seems like it has a little bit of everything and is doing a good job of pulling that off.
