This book draws you in immediately by introducing you to main protagonist 1 Wil in the midst of an ongoing conflict. The author is an engaging writer—lots of vivid descriptions of the setting and Wil’s inner monologue is intense without being over the top. I like that the story is told between two different viewpoints, and hope that Elwood’s personality ends up as fleshed out as Wil’s. I am into the potentially supernatural/cult angle but feel like the characters are being written older vs as teens. The cover leads me to believe that there’s a romance brewing between the main characters…I would prefer it stay platonic but we shall see!
