When I first got this book, I was worried about all the technical jargon, names, phrases, locations, characters and descriptions, etc etc. Thankfully the author does a fantastic job weaving these details throughout the story without bogging it down.

Main character, Kira, is relatable enough off the bat. As the story continues, I found myself cycling through frustration, fear, and pride. While she doesn’t always make the best decisions, her actions are always understandable. She’s not your typical stubborn know-it-all.

The other characters vary in importance and thus background but there’s enough there to make you feel for them. The author could probably go on to write spin offs about plenty from this book.

While this book is packed with action, there are plenty moments with humor and connection.

Narration is in 3rd person, which fits well with the plot.
